Galveston to Houston shuttle
Shared vans from the Galveston cruise port and island hotels back to IAH or Hobby after your cruise. A flat $39 per seat, protection included.
Every seat is protectedThe ride home after your cruise

Disembarkation is the part of the trip cruisers tend to plan last. We run the reverse of our airport routes, from the Galveston cruise port and island hotels back to both Houston airports, so you are not sorting out a ride in the terminal line with your luggage.
Return vans depart from the port and Galveston hotels between 8 AM and 5 PM. Most cruise lines have everyone off the ship by mid-morning, so pick a departure that leaves comfortable margin for your flight. If you are not sure how much buffer to leave, the cruise-day timing guide walks through it.
Back to your airport
- Galveston to Hobby is the shorter run, about 40 miles and roughly 1 hour.
- Galveston to IAH is about 70 miles and about 2 hours on a shared van, so leave extra room for a flight out of Bush.
Every return seat is protected as well. If the ship gets back to port late and you miss your pickup, the fare is refundable. Booking the outbound leg? See the IAH and Hobby routes, part of our Houston to Galveston shuttle service.
A note on flight timing
It is common to underestimate how long disembarkation and the drive back take together. Between the walk-off, the ride to the airport, and security, a mid-afternoon flight is usually more comfortable than a late-morning one, especially out of IAH.
Galveston to Houston at a glance
Every seat comes protected
If a delayed or canceled flight, or a late ship arrival, causes you to miss your pickup, the fare is refundable. You can also cancel up to 2 hours before your scheduled pickup for a full refund.
Refunds are returned less a small card processing fee. Full terms are shown at checkout.
Return pickups from every Galveston cruise terminal

After your cruise we collect from all four Galveston cruise terminals and from island hotels, between 8 AM to 5 PM daily. A shared seat back to either Houston airport is the same flat $39 per person as the outbound leg, and a private black car is the same fixed rate per vehicle.
| Pick-up point | Address | Cruise lines |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 10 | 1152 Royal Caribbean Way | Royal Caribbean |
| Terminal 16 | 1602 Harborside Drive | MSC Cruises, Norwegian |
| Terminal 25 | 2502 Harborside Drive | Carnival, Princess |
| Terminal 28 | 2702 Harborside Drive | Disney Cruise Line, Princess |
| Island hotels | Seawall and Harborside | all lines |
Timing your flight home
Most cruise lines clear everyone off the ship by mid-morning, with self-assist debarkation earliest and checked-luggage groups following through the morning. The mistake we see most often is booking a late-morning flight against a mid-morning walk-off.
| Debarkation type | Typical off-ship | Book the van for | Earliest safe flight, Hobby |
|---|---|---|---|
| Self-assist, own bags | 7:00 to 8:00 AM | 8:00 or 9:00 AM | about 12 PM |
| Standard, checked luggage | 8:30 to 10:00 AM | 10:00 or 11:00 AM | about 1 PM |
| Late group or delayed docking | 10:00 AM onward | 11:00 AM or later | about 2 PM |
| Any of the above, flying IAH | add about 1 hour | one slot later | add about 1 hour |
Those are deliberately conservative. Between the walk-off, the drive back up Interstate 45, and airport security, a mid-afternoon departure is far more comfortable than a late-morning one, and that goes double from Bush Intercontinental where the return leg covers about 70 miles.
If your ship docks late
Ships occasionally arrive behind schedule, and on a shared seat that is covered. If a late docking causes you to miss your booked pickup, Shuttle Protection refunds the fare and we move you to a later van when there is room. You can also cancel for any reason up to 2 hours before pickup.
Call 832.899.4040 from the ship or the terminal as soon as you know. Debarkation mornings concentrate every passenger into a couple of hours, so later vans fill quickly and early notice genuinely changes the outcome.
Booking the return leg
You can book the return on its own or together with the outbound as a round trip. The rate is the same each way and there is no round-trip surcharge, so a return-only booking costs no more for being one-directional.
- Give us the terminal number from your boarding pass, not just the cruise line.
- Tell us your airline and flight number so we drop at the right terminal on the return.
- Reserve child safety seats at $15 each way when you book.
- Flag mobility equipment. Folding wheelchairs and scooters ride free; a ramp or lift vehicle needs 48 hours notice.
Private returns and larger groups
A private black car on the return runs at whatever time you book rather than on the 8 AM to 5 PM shared schedule, which matters after a late docking or before an early flight. A black Suburban carrying up to six is $249 to Hobby and $257 to IAH; a 14-seat Sprinter is $590 and $600.
Groups above 14 run as multiple vehicles departing together on a single booking, coordinated so the whole party reaches the airport at the same time. Call 832.899.4040 with headcount, ship, terminal and flight times.
Where we drop you in Houston
The return runs to both Houston airports and to any Houston address. On airport drop-offs we take you to the departures level for your airline's terminal, which matters at Bush Intercontinental where the five terminals are not a short walk apart. Give us your airline and flight number when you book.
| Destination | Distance from the port | Shared seat | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby Airport (HOU) | about 40 miles | $39 | about 1 hour |
| IAH (Bush Intercontinental) | about 70 miles | $39 | about 2 hours |
| Downtown Houston | about 50 miles | private only | about 1 hour |
| Clear Lake & League City | about 30 miles | private only | about 40 minutes |
| The Woodlands | about 85 miles | private only | about 1h30 |
Shared seats run to the two airports only. Any other Houston destination is a private booking, priced per vehicle from any Galveston address to any Houston address.
What the return fare includes
- Pickup at your cruise terminal or island hotel, 8 AM to 5 PM daily.
- Standard cruise luggage with no per-bag fee.
- Shuttle Protection on every shared seat, covering a late ship arrival.
- Free cancellation up to 2 hours before pickup.
- No surge pricing, no fuel surcharge, and no gratuity added automatically.
Child safety seats are $15 each way and must be reserved when you book. Folding wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters travel free on standard vehicles; a ramp or lift vehicle needs at least 48 hours notice. Trained service animals ride free.
A worked debarkation timeline
For a couple disembarking at Terminal 25 with a mid-afternoon flight from Hobby, a comfortable day looks like this.
- 8:30 AM — off the ship, luggage collected in the terminal.
- 9:45 AM — shared van departs the terminal.
- 10:45 AM — arrive Hobby Airport departures.
- 11:00 AM — through security with time to spare.
- 1:00 PM or later — comfortable departure.
From Bush Intercontinental, add roughly an hour to every step after the walk-off. That is the single reason we push people toward Hobby for the return leg where the choice exists.
Booking the Galveston to Houston shuttle
A return-only booking is completely normal and costs no more for being one-directional. Plenty of passengers drive down, or use a different service on the way in, and book only the ride back to the airport.
Give us your ship, the terminal number, your disembarkation date, and your airline and flight number. The flight number matters on the return because it tells us which airport and which terminal to drop at, and Bush Intercontinental has five.
Shared seats are $39 per person to either Houston airport. Private black car service runs at whatever time you book rather than on the 8 AM to 5 PM shared schedule, from $249 per vehicle to Hobby and $257 to IAH for up to six passengers.
Book two to three weeks ahead where you can. Debarkation mornings concentrate every passenger from every ship in port into the same couple of hours, so the mid-morning departures that suit most walk-off times fill first. The fare does not change with lead time and cancellation is free up to two hours before pickup, so an early booking costs nothing.
For groups above 14 we run multiple vehicles departing together on one booking, coordinated so the whole party reaches the airport at the same time. Call 832.899.4040 with your headcount, ship, terminal and flight times and we will arrange it directly rather than routing you through the online form.
